Your handle, your face, and a mark a reader can check

You have a name on DRM3. Pick your @handle once and it is yours across every app: your papers, the Lounge, anywhere you sign in. The moment you pick it, you have a face too. A mark is drawn just for your name, and it is the same mark everywhere you show up, from a profile to a share card to an email.

Your face is already made

You do not upload anything to get a face. Your avatar is drawn from your handle, so it exists the instant your name does. It is the same on every surface, it loads with no wait, and it does not break, because it is computed and not fetched from somewhere that can be down.

Want your own photo instead? Add one later and it takes the same spot. Until then, the mark that is yours and only yours is already there.

One name, everywhere

Your handle lives on your account, not on one app. One name, one identity, across the whole fleet. People see it, link to it, and know it is you. Once it is yours it is parked for good, so no one else can wear it or take it to stand in for you.

The mark next to your name

Some names carry a mark. Here is exactly what it means: a reader can confirm that it is really you, that you signed your words under your own key, and that the mark traces all the way back to DRM3's root. Here is what it does not mean: it does not say your words are true. It says who is speaking and when, and lets anyone check that for themselves.

The mark is signed by whoever vouches for you, an institution that knows you or DRM3 itself. It carries a receipt a reader can verify in their own browser, and it is withdrawn the day the affiliation ends. Once your name carries a key, the name is yours to keep. It locks, because your mark and everything you have signed are named by it.

Why it is worth having

Your word travels under your name, and anyone can check it is really you. The mark is portable, so you take it with you. It can be withdrawn, so it stays true to who still stands behind you. It is not a color a platform paints on and can switch off. It is a signature you hold.
