A claim, judged, and you can check the signature

ClaimsDesk reads a claim and does three things you can check: it says how far the record's evidence agrees with it, it signs that finding, and it tells you whether the claim was ever the kind of thing you could check.

How far the evidence agrees

For a claim, ClaimsDesk weighs the evidence on the record and publishes a finding of how far that evidence concurs with the claim's premise. It is a read on the evidence, not a verdict on the truth: a signature proves who made the finding and that it has not changed, never that it is correct.

Its own key, and whether a claim is checkable

ClaimsDesk publishes its own verifier key, so anyone can confirm a judgment or a finding is genuinely ours by checking it against that key. And every judged claim now carries a read of whether it is checkable at all, so a rhetorical flourish and a testable statement are not treated the same.
